Lorima’s longstanding expertise is in the manufacture of carbon masts for ocean racing (monohulls and multihulls). At our Lorient-based workshops, we have a passionate team capable of making bespoke masts that help break records and win races. Made from pre-impregnated carbon fibre, our masts for ocean racing are hand-finished. The position of the carbon fibres is meticulously designed to give the masts maximum strength.
Our manufacturing processes (laminate, moulding and curing) ensure that our masts have a strong, lightweight composite structure. The rigidity of carbon ensures excellent stability, while its lightness minimises the load on boats.
Our carbon fibre masts offer racing boats an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, enabling them to achieve excellent performance.
Lorima equips, among others, boats in the Imoca Class (60-foot monohull yachts taking part in the Vendée Globe), the Ultim Class and the Ocean 50 Class (50-foot multihull yachts), with masts reaching almost 30 metres in height.
